5th grade
Social Studies/ Geography
In a geography unit the students could use interactive whiteboards to find different locations on maps of the United States. The students could work as a class to locate and name each state and capitol. If we were studying a specific region or city, for example Alaska, we could use video conferencing and talk with the children and teachers from a school in Alaska. The students would receive a better understanding of the similarities and differences of lifestyle in different parts of the country.

6th
Science
In this unit, the student will be studying the human eye structure and how it functions. The students could use search engines such as Google to find out interesting information about the eye. Then the students could use virtual museums to find interactive lessons and material about the eye. When our group searched virtual museums we found a relevant site about the genetics behind what color a person’s eyes are.

4th
Mathematics/ geometry
In this lesson the students will be learning about geometric figures and their properties. Students could use programs that allow them to construct 3-Dimentional geometric figures themselves on the computer. Then the students could explore their properties and use the figures they constructed to find their perimeter, area, and volume.

Video-conferencing with a class in Alaska! Sounds exciting! :D

I also like 'the eye lesson' It seems like you will apply different resources and integrate them in your class. I am glad you think these modeling activities are useful.
